London choir sought for project examining the transgender experience

Adam’s Apple are looking for a choir/singers to perform a specially composed song cycle inspired by the transgender experience. Performances will take place at LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) at Hoxton Hall in London on 3rd and 4th June 2016.
We have commissioned six new songs composed by Errollyn Wallen with lyrics by Alex Bulmer exploring the journey of a voice.

We’ve been talking to transgender men and women, their families and the medical teams who work with them on voice. The creation of the song cycle was informed by this research.

The songs will be performed by LGBT and community choirs (featuring trans artist and singer Tristan Whiston) at a range of events across the UK including Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre, Sparkle Fringe, London LIFT festival at Hoxton Hall, Blackpool Pride and East Lancashire.

We have choirs confirmed in Manchester and Blackpool but need a London choir to join this exciting new project. The music is available now.
