Pen name of Helen Rohdes nee Guy; she was bron near Boulogne-sur-Mer in 1858 and studied at the Paris Conservatoire. She bagn composing after encouragement from Massenet. She came to London where she became a singing and diction teacher. She was one of the most popular women composers of the early 20th Century on her own merit. She died in London in 1936
