Born in Dolgellau in 1918,  she studied Music at Cardiff University and later at the Royal College of Music. She taught music for many years and was a most respected piano teacher in Bangor both at Normal College and the University there. She was much in demand as an adjudicator of eisteddfodau and received commisions from the BBC among others. She died in 2012.
